Interior design in Bali by Antonio Rutilio's studio in Ubud: villas, resorts and apartments, with space planning, custom furniture, finishes and lighting.
Interiors are designed in the same process as the architecture, not added at the end. The studio of Antonio Rutilio, an Italian architect and civil engineer based in Ubud, designs interiors for villas, resorts, hospitality renovations and apartments on Bali: space planning, custom furniture, finishes, lighting, decoration and styling.
For the architecture of a private house, see the page for a villa architect in Bali; for hotels and resorts, the page for a resort architect in Bali.
An interior on Bali lives with humidity, salt air near the coast, strong light and, often, rooms that open fully to a terrace or a garden. Materials, joinery, upholstery and finishes are chosen for how they behave in those conditions and how easily they can be maintained, not only for how they photograph. Lighting is designed for evenings outdoors as much as for the rooms inside.
In villas and resorts that will be rented, the interior also has to survive guests, cleaning and daily operation: durable surfaces, storage that works for housekeeping, and furniture that can be repaired or replaced locally.
Each project has its own page; the description says what the studio did, as stated there.
Outside Indonesia, the studio completed the interior renovation of the Aquamare PH 50B penthouse in Panama City — 600 m² on two levels, with space planning, custom furniture, finishes, lighting and styling — and designed the Office Zero Day interior in Andorra.
Interior design can be part of a new villa or resort, or a project of its own for an existing property. To discuss yours, contact the studio; for a preliminary, non-binding range for a full project, use the project estimator.
